Looks like banks will soon be closing as every time i go there they are saying use their machines, put app on my mobile, use online banking and business being told business counters are closed.
This is a disgrace as the banks make so much profit and not everyone uses cards and still prefer to go into a bank and take out cash or pay bills. Many disabled go to banks and use them how will they cope as they cannot use online or apps due to their disbility ? What about vulnerable people and those who live in rural areas?
Seems as if the establishment including globally want to control people’s spending by bringing in digital cos in Netherlands and Norway those shopping are not allowed to spend more than a few hundred euros and anything else they need permission from their bank which may or not give it. Norwegians when shopping in Norway must use their banking mobile app to make purchases and in some cases they are refused to buy something cos told already bought recently not finished or bad for their health. No one’s business what people buy with what they have earned to eat or for their dwellings.
Not everyone likes to do online shopping.
Also discovered that bank of scotland before they shut had closed their pollokshields branch had closed their business counter and now their branch on victoria road has done the same. Their excuse not enough staff and the person in the business banking bit spends all day counting business money. They are telling people to hand in their money with their slips and they will count it later etc. Big problem with this is someone put in three cheques – good thing they took copies of all including slip and the bank added an extra £100 ie the slip said £700 the cheques added up to £700 and the bank put in £800 to their account. Heard of so many horror stories of banks putting in less too saying money missing. Though they will count it in front of you if you insist but in normal counter – better that way for accuracy.
